View of the City of new Brunswick, NJ, 1845

Pencil sketch by C. C. Abeel, based on a lithograph by J.H. Bufford: “View of the City of New Brunswick, N.J.: Taken from the Rail Road Hotel at East Brunswick,” c. 1940s

Bufford, who made the original drawing during a visit to the Rail Road Hotel in East Brunswick (presently Highland Park, NJ) shortly after the completion of the new railroad bridge over the Raritan River.
