View of New Brunswick, by J.H. Bufford, c. 1839

View of New Brunswick by lithographer J.H. Bufford, seen from the Rail Road hotel on the other side of the Raritan River

The lithographer John Henry Bufford (1810-1870) must have made his original drawing soon after the Railroad Hotel was opened in East Brunswick (presently Highlight Park) in 1838, after the Railroad Bridge was completed.

The lithograph is part of the pictorial collection at Rutgers University University and Special Collections. (Read a blog post about this image).
