Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh silhouette

Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh (1736-1790)

The silhouette of Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh (1736-1790), which bears the embossing stamp “Peale Museum,” is part of a framed collection of silhouettes of Rutgers College’s first five presidents as well as Henry Rutgers (1745-1830), after whom Queen’s College was renamed in 1825.

The silhouettes will be featured in a future blog post.
